Yukon Striker is a steel Dive Coaster at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario which opened on May 3, 2019. At 68 metres (223 ft) tall, 1,105 metres (3,625 ft) long, and a ride speed of 130 kilometres per hour (81 mph), Yukon Striker is the world's tallest, longest, and fastest Dive Coaster, sharing its height record with Valravn at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. The roller coaster also holds the record for most inversions on a Dive Coaster and the longest drop at 75 metres (245 ft).
Upon completion Yukon Striker became the third tallest roller coaster in Canada, following Leviathan and Behemoth, two other roller coasters located at Canada's Wonderland. Yukon Striker is also the second fastest and steepest roller coaster in Canada with a 90° drop, following Leviathan.
Ride experience[]
After departing the station, Yukon Striker turns 180 degrees to the right and then begins to ascend the 68-metre (223 ft) lift hill at an angle of 47 degrees. It then turns 90 degrees to the right and begins its drop sequence. Riders are hung over the 90-degree drop for around three seconds and then plunge straight down the 75 metres (245 ft) drop through Vortex's turnaround into an underwater tunnel, hitting a top speed of 130 kilometres per hour (81 mph). Exiting the tunnel, the train rises into a 164-foot (50 m) Immelmann loop. The inversion happens to be the second tallest inversion on a Dive Coaster, with Valravn at Cedar Point having a 50-metre (165 ft) Immelmann Loop. Following the Immelmann, the ride plunges down towards the ground again, crossing over Vortex once more, before entering a 40.5-metre (133 ft) zero-g roll. This is followed by a 29-metre (95 ft) vertical loop, which is the first on a Dive Coaster, then a second Immelmann and then a mid-course brake run directly above Timberwolf Falls. The car dives down another drop, not at 90-degrees, and enters an airtime hill. The ride then proceeds into a counterclockwise 360-degree helix and then enters the final brake run.
