White Cylone (Japanese: ホワイトサイクロン) was a wooden roller coaster that operated from 1994 to 2018 at Nagashima Spa Land in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, Japan.
History[]
The coaster was originally manufactured by Intamin AG and opened at the park on March 20, 1994. It was closed on January 28, 2018 for renovation work through the spring of 2019.[1] However, the park soon announced that White Cyclone would be replaced by Japan's first hybrid coaster, Hakugei, which opened on March 28, 2019 after work by Rocky Mountain Construction.[2]
Design[]
The track was 1,715 meters (5626 feet) long with a duration of about 180 seconds. The lift hill reached a height of 45.5 meters (149 feet) with a 50-degree drop that reached speeds of up to 102 km/h (63 mph). Riders were required to be 120 cm (47 inches) tall to ride.[3]
Trains[]
The trains were manufactured by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters and featured 7 cars per train. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows in each car for a total of 28 riders per train.
