As of May 2020, the park is still in operation.

Theme[]

"Schtroumpf" translates to "Smurf" in French. This would be the park's theme from opening day up until 2003.

History[]

Walygator Parc opened on May 9, 1989 as Big Bang Schtroumpf and cost 720,000,000 French francs to build (1989 figure). On opening day, the park would open 2 roller coasters. They were Anaconda, a wooden roller coaster built by Morgan, and Comet (opened as Comet Space), a Vekoma Hurricane roller coaster and is the only one of it's kind operating today.

Later in 1991, the park would renamed to Walibi Schtroumpf.

12 years later on May 8, 2003, Zig Zag, a Mack Rides Wilde Maus roller coaster, would open to the public, but would close down the same year. Also, the park would be renamed again into Walibi Lorraine that year.

In 2007, the park would be renamed once again into Walygator Parc.

In the same year on April 6, the park would open Family Coaster, a Wacky Worm roller coaster.

2 years later in 2009, Wild Mouse from Expoland in Suita, Osaka, Japan, which closed in 2007 with the park, was relocated to Walygator Parc and was put into storage.

On July 9, 2010, the park would open Monster, a Bolliger & Mabillard inverted roller coaster. It was a clone of Raptor at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, United States.

In 2012, the roller coaster that was in storage was relocated to Antibes Land in Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in France as Wild Mouse. The coaster would later open in 2014.

As of writing, the park is currently operating.
