Getting Our Wiki on Wikia's Main Page

Hello Coasterpedians! If you haven't seen it already, there's a new blog post on Community Central highlighting the Promote! feature. Click here to see it. I'd like to get our wiki up there, but we need to decide on a few things:

  • What should the Headline be?

"Something as simple as "Learn more about the Bacon Wiki" or "Welcome to the Bacon Wiki" is great!"

  • What is our wiki about?

"Write a summary about your wiki's topic. Don't be afraid to make it detailed, you want to get visitors excited about the topic and make sure they have a clear idea of what your wiki is all about."

  • We need to pick a photo to represent the wiki.

"This image defines your wiki. It will be the main image we use to represent your wiki on wikia.com so make sure it's a great one! …

Summer Spotlight

Congratulations everyone! Wikia has approved our wiki for yet another spotlight! This means that our wiki will be cross-advertised across thousands of other wikis around the Wikia network.

Be prepared for a significant boost in visitors within a few weeks. Let's all be as friendly and helpful as we can; this is a big opportunity to gain some more enthusiasts in our community to help us reach our goals!

In the meantime, let's keep the wiki looking good, and continue to add content (I promise to start helping out again this week).

Coaster Q&A: Lachlan5963

Coaster Q&A is a blog series in which interviews are conducted with our very own community of passionate roller coaster enthusiasts.

Today, our interviewee is Lachlan5963, an enthusiastic editor who has already racked up almost 2,000 edits in just 2 months!

MontagnaMagica: To start things off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Lachlan5963: Well... I live in Scotland, UK, where we have rubbish coasters! When I'm not on the wiki, I am outside, with freinds or playing video games (RCT of course!). My hobbies would be: Listening to music, riding roller coasters, ( :P ) and going out with freinds. I also like to run sometimes as well.
MontagnaMagica: What does your username mean?
Lachlan5963: Lachlan is my first name. 5963 is a secret cod…

The G-Force Limit Controversy

The train arrives at the station after its mile-long journey, and the passengers unload. As everyone files off the train, they chat excitedly about their wild experience. The train had just sped over 5,312 feet ( meters) of twisted track at over 80 miles per hour ( km/h), and reached a height of 245 feet ( meters). This is a roller coaster, specifically, Titan at Six Flags Over Texas. Titan, like hundreds of others, is a thrilling roller coaster ride. Millions of people ride roller coasters like this, and even bigger ones, for the exciting rush of adrenaline, and the heart-pounding height and speed that these thrill rides offer. Because of the danger that roller coasters seem to present, some members of the United States government would l…

Infoboxes - A Growing Concern

I want to start off by saying that this isn't the worst problem our wiki has faced, so don't take it out of context.

I've noticed a growing number of infoboxes that use "extra" information, rearrange the usual order and layout of things, or even renaming the titles of the rows. The extra information is nice, but should not be put in the infobox. The current design should have rows for all the basic information on a roller coaster. Beyond that, it's up to the articles to give more in-depth information.

Now, before you all start calling me a control freak, hear me out on this... I'm totally open to adding more rows to the infoboxes (I actually think adding the cost and height restrictions are both great ideas). But we need to communicate with …
