Twisted Timbers is a new roller coaster in Kings Dominion for 2018. It is an RMC version of Hurler, located in Candy Apple Grove.
History[]
In 2016, Kings Dominion teased about the renovation of Hurler, which had been closed since 2015. The coaster reopened in 2018. The park also alluded to an upcoming renovation and conversion by RMC (Rocky Mountain Construction) with a message, "There's really more coming". On August 16, 2017, Kings Dominion confirmed about Hurler's renovation to Twisted Timbers. After a few hints, the ride had a soft opening on March 22, 2018, and the grand opening was in March 24, 2018.
Theme[]
The ride takes place in the fictional Hanover Hill Orchard, a rustic apple orchard named after Hanover Contry in Virginia, where Kings Dominion is located. The backstory is that in 1950, a mysterious force had destroyed the orchard and froze it in time. However, a local business man opened it back up and ignored the warnings about the force.
