History[]

The construction work for Troy began in 2006 as the first attraction in the "Ithaka" and was part of the expansion of Toverland into a more 'outdoor' theme park.During the constructions,an unexpected event happened on monday,March 5 2017 as a gust of wind in the afternoon caused the lift hill to collapse. This has almost reached its higheest point of 31.9 m.The damage was limited to the matriel and no one got hurt by the accident,as they were having a launch brake at the time of the event. The coaster had a soft opening on June 29,2007,and immediatly been ope to visitors in July 1,2007.The coaster is still the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in the Netherlands.Following the attraction, two new more attractiones were added into the themed area.

Design[]

Troy uses GCI's Millennium Flyer trains. The ride has two trains with 12 cars each. Each car seats two riders, allowing a capacity of 24 riders per train. Troy can accommodate 850 riders per hour.

Troy features a lift hill with a height of 31.9 metres (105 ft) and a drop of 30.7 metres (101 ft), reaching a maximum speed of 86.9 kilometres per hour (54.0 mph). The track is 1,077.2 metrers (3,534 ft) in length. The ride features several high-speed turns and hills. The ride also has a section where the train travels through the station building at high speed in the middle of the layout. One cycle of the ride lasts approximately 1 minute and 50 seconds.
