Tornado is a sit-down inverted roller coaster located in Parque de Atracciones de Madrid. The coaster is manufactured by Swiss manufacturer Intamin and was opened on May 23, 1999.
The attraction was designed by Bavarian based company Ing.-Büro Stengel GmbH and is currently one of only two Suspended Looping Coasters to be built by Intamin, with the other being Tornado at Särkänniemi Amusement Park. It is as well one of the five attractions in the park that are a part of the problems of the physics subject on the student's exercise book that won the "Madrid Prize" for teaching materials.

When Tornado starts, the train leaves the station and climbs up the chain lift hill. Guests then fall 30 meters and achieve a speed of 80 km/h before entering it's first inversion, a vertical loop, followed by another one. The train then goes through a corkscrew and then goes through 2 or 3 propellers before entering the brakes, ending the ride. The ride lasts 2 minutes.
Controversies[]
In June 2009, the attraction was temporarily closed due to it being popular with teenagers and the park was afraid of an accident happening. In 2011, a complaint was filed about the coaster that the noise in the park exceeded the legal limits pointed to Tornado and was louder than the two other coasters: Abismo and Tarántula.
