The Flying Cobras, formerly Carolina Cobra, is a Vekoma Boomerang roller coaster located at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was the first addition to the park since it was purchased by Cedar Fair.

History[]

The ride was originally known as Mind Eraser when it opened on May 10, 1996 at the Geauga Lake theme park, which became Six Flags Ohio and then Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. After Cedar Fair acquired the park, it was renamed in 2004 to Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom and the ride was renamed to Head Spin. After the Geauga Lake theme park closed in 2007, the ride was moved to Carowinds, where it opened on March 28, 2009 as "Carolina Cobra". It crosses the North/South Carolina border three times.[1][2]
