Space Mountain is a Vekoma indoor roller coaster located at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. It has a similar track design that of Space Mountain in Disney's Magic Kingdom. The ride's theming involves space traveling from a distant part of the universe back to the home galaxy. During the Halloween season, the ride's theme is changed to "Ghost Galaxy". Space Mountain has an on-board sound system. When the ride originally opened in 1977, it was the first roller coaster in the world to be completely controlled by computers. Starting in 2003 until 2005, the roller coaster went through major refurbishment which replaced almost everything including props, lines, trains, music, and a track that was almost identical to the last. It is mostly dark, with some lights.
