Moonsault Scramble was a Meisho sit-down shuttle roller coaster located at Fuji-Q Highland in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan. The ride was the first roller coaster to surpass 200 feet (61 meters) in height, but is not considered a hyper coaster as it is not full-circuit.
Design[]
Elements •Pretzel Knot |
Moonsault Scramble featured the first (and only until Banshee opened in 2014) Pretzel Knot, a double-inversion that is similar to a Batwing which crosses over itself.
The ride began with a 230 foot (70.1 meter) tall reverse-inclined lift hill before dropping through the station into the 67 feet high Pretzel Knot. After the forceful inversions, the train travels up the second hill, and drops backward though the design, and into the station.
