Hyperia is a steel hyper roller coaster at Thorpe Park in Cherstey, Surrey, England, UK. Initially dubbed Project Exodus, it sits on the site formerly occupied by both Loggers Leap and Rocky Express.
History[]
On 1st November 2022, full planning permission was given to construct Project Exodus.
In July 2023, the first delivery of supports for the ride arrived.
In August 2023, it was announced that whilst also taking the record for being the UK's tallest coaster, it will also take the record for being the fastest.
On 5 October 2023, the park released a computer-generated POV and announced that the new coaster would be called Hyperia.
On 11 October 2023, the first supports and three pieces of track were installed. On 17 October 2023, the first of the white supports were installed.
On 17 February 2024, the first pieces of the 236 foot tall lift hill has been put in place.
On 29 February 2024, the first drop was mostly completed, with the only track sections left to be installed being lift hill pieces.
On 1 March 2024, the last piece of track, being a straight lift hill piece, was delivered to the construction site.
On 6 March 2024, the last two pieces of track, being the crest of the lift hill, were installed. Later that month, it was announced that Hyperia would open on 24 May 2024.
Hyperia opened on 24 May 2024. The day after opening, the coaster was closed due to an unspecified problem. It reopened on 12 June 2024. On 19 June, Thorpe Park stated Hyperia would not open for the day due to "unforeseen circumstances". This was due to the train rolling back in the outer banked turn.

The ride is 71.9 metres tall, reaches a maximum speed of 128 km/h and has two inversions. The track length of the ride is 995.4 metres.
