De Draak (The Dragon in English) is a Powered roller coaster, located in the Belgian Park,Plopsaland De Panne, build by the German manufacturer, Mack Rides in 2004.

The coaster has 1 train, which is decorated at the front with a green dragon. The passengers (space for 38 people) are treated with 2 laps (unless it is busy in the park) with the train rushing through the station.

The track is 450 m long and the train reaches a top speed of 36 km / h. A ride takes 1 minute and 45 seconds. During the route, the train passes 3 helices and reguraly passes the park's log flume and the park's train ride.

The ride is themed with a medieval castle with a draw gate, battlements and watchtowers. This building also houses a sanitary block, a souvenir shop and a catering point. An animated dragon can be seen on the side of the castle.

As a Powered coaster, the trains does not use gravity during the ride to move on the course, but instead the trains is equipped with electric motors which drives the train through the course.

Trivia[]

  • At the time of its construction, the attraction was the most expensive purchase of the park since its acqusition by Studio 100.
