Dwervelwind is a spinning coaster, located in the Dutch theme park, Toverland and was opened on September 26, 2012. The roller coaster has a similar layout to Le Twist at Le Pal, both manufactured by the German company, Mack Rides.

History[]

On September 11, 2011, Toverland announced that a new attraction will be opened in 2013, a spinning coaster. From then on, preparation for the construction and the construction of the ride itself started. The park announced that the official opening date will be 2013:however the attraction opened for a limited amount of time in 2012 in order to allow guests the coaster ride in the autumn.

On 10 September 2012, it was announced that the name of the attraction will be D'wervelwind but was changed after 2012 to Dwervelwind.In the week of Monday, September 29, the attraction opened preliminary to the guests. It was closed after 5 weeks, to be opened in spring 2013 with the entire Magical Valley area.

Design and theme[]

Queue[]

The queue of the attraction starts from a path seen to the right of the station. The route winds through the trail of the coaster itself, past ponds,large boulders and plants. Eventually the queue continues under the brake section to the station.The last pond that is passed is covered with mist.

Station and track[]

The station consists of number of trees between each wall with a blue gradient in place,to protect space.The branches of the trees are bend together into organic shapes with occasional pink hue proceeds the walls.The roof is a thatched roof replica.The station contains one tower with a spinning ornament on top.The operator can be found in that tower.After entering the station from the queue via a staircase,a leafy deck can be seen

in the entry area against the ceiling.There are some mobiles that can be seen spin gently.A few trickle lights fall down from the ceiling,after going throught the queue,you can board the trains which runs from blue to pink.

When the trains leave the station,the lights begin to flicker more strongly and form a pattern.When the trains leave the station,music will be heard from the trains during the ride.When the trains have passed the lift hill,the trains are unblocked and the cars can turn on thier axis.The train the pass through a Horseshoe,some helices and zig zag like turns.After passing the brakes,the trains are locked in place into the correct direction,visitors are leaving the station through a small staircase and arrive at a path in front of the station.

  • The onride music was composed by the company IMAscore,which also composed musics in various attractions in German theme parks,such as Europapark or Moviepark Germany.
  • This is the fastest and highest spinning coaster in the Netherlands.
