Demon is an Arrow Dynamics sit-down roller coaster located at California's Great America in Santa Clara, California. The ride opened in 1976, along with its identical copy at Six Flags Great America, as "Turn of the Century". The turn of the century opened with the park and started off going up the lift hill turning around then going through a set of airtime hills then turning around again for the 2 corkscrews that are still present. Then in 1980 when the park opened for the operating season the coaster was repainted from white into black, there were lighted tunnels added and the airtime hills had been replaced with 2 vertical loops. When going through the corkscrews, a red water fall made to look like blood was added. Today the coaster still operates as the last surviving coaster of the original park, the coaster has been changed a little over the years, now there are no lights in the second tunnel or blood water but the coaster is mostly the same.
