Booster Bike is a well known coaster, located in the dutch park known as Toverland. The ride is the first by Vekoma and the first motorbike coaster in the world. The ride was first opened in 2004.The model was revolutionary at the time, and even copied by several companies such as Intamin or Zamperla.
Constructions and Design[]
The ride was first introduct in 2003 in the IAAPA expo. The reception went so well, and the idea of the motorbike coaster even won the award for "Best idea euro amusment show 2004-paris".The major diffrences between a Motorbike model from the normal, well known sit down roller coasters is the postioning of the riders.Instead of the normal seats, the seats on a Motorbike model are designed to a motorbike which the name of the model originate from. The riders can hold to a 'stearing wheel' and secured by using harnesses that pushes down or back on the rider, instead of the usuall sit down restrains, which makes the ride to lean more forward towards the seats.
Layout[]
The rides layout is a more out and back layout, with some long, streching launch, hills and some huge turns to acompany it.The ride begins with a S-curve,before hitting the launch. This is a Hydraulic launch which there, the ride hits its max speed of 46.6 mph. After, the trian travles a streched hill, which followed by a right turn and a shoehorse elemant. Then the trains travles a horizontal 'loop' and a left turn, and after the last two hills, the train hits the brake run and a turn to the station.
